PROJECT 042
Mixed Use Residential Condominium 32-34 Greene Street-Development
An 1873 cast-iron warehouse at 32–34 Greene Street, converted to condominiums with a new penthouse and restored facade.
This project for the adaptive reuse of the existing 26,000 square feet 6-story cast iron warehouse was originally designed in 1873 by J.F Duckworth and Charles Wright respectively. The building was developed for the Sorgente Group, an Italian based real estate development company. This project was to convert the existing warehouse building to luxury residential condominiums and add new penthouse. The project required major structural modifications for new central elevator and stair core, new lobby, common space, cast iron façade restoration, building envelope renovation, entirely new building system upgrades and condominium plan. MA/D provided all architectural design and interior design services, MEP and Structural engineering consultant coordination and NYC Building Department filing, Landmarks Preservation Commission approvals.
